First, for everything you are looking to do, I would budget about twice as much (maybe more-- others can chime in) to do it correctly. Timewise, I would plan on investing most weekends during your allotted time period toward this. Second, you need to compression test (warm) before you remove the engine, not afterwards (much more difficult to do out of car). Since you have bad plug threads in one cylinder, you may not get an accurate reading there. You didnt indicate replacing timing belt and tensioners. Your profile indicates servicing, however unless they are brand new, I would highly recommend replacement now. You might also consider changing out the rod bearings, and possibly the oil pump, depending upon mileage on the engine. If you are doing a 5 spd swap you will need a number of other parts. You've totally forgotten about the flywheel, clutch, hydraulics and many smaller parts. I'm sure others will have much more to say. Just make sure you arent getting in over your head with regards to your budget. Good luck with the project!
